Ellie & Matt’s Italian Date Night
Smoky Parmesan Chicken Hearth Rice
Candlelight, comfort, and a taste of Italy.

Two pans would make it easier. One makes it a date.
Somebody lights the candle before the food is anywhere near ready, which is the whole point. A date night is not a faster dinner. It is a slower one, arranged so that the cooking is the evening rather than the thing standing in front of it.
So these are written as nights, not as posts — the dish, the table it is meant for, and a note from the two people who cooked it. The recipe is all here and readable; nothing is locked inside a picture.

Open the night →These are not date nights. They are ordinary-Tuesday food, and they are better left that way. Every one of them lives on the Kitchen Pillars shelf, at the address it has always had.
Fire, Anchor & Bridge — one meal, three preparations, one skillet.
Chicken, broccoli & cabbage rice with saffron and herbs.
Pork & Job’s tears, simmered beef-style, deeply browned and slow-cooked.
High-starter cultured bread-machine loaf.
A buttery, risotto-style leftover rice supper.
A Cultured Almond Friendship Loaf.
What is worth having is drawn out slowly, from what looks like waste.
Warm enough to weather the storm.
The Path Continues
None of this is finished by reading it. A recipe is only true in a pan, and a date night is only true with somebody in the chair.
