Covenant Relationships

Predator or Prayer

Every relationship is a choice.

Predator or Prayer — three paths around a central forge: the predator who takes, the one who turns to prayer and surrenders, and the covenant that chooses to stay. The choice itself forges the future.

What is Predator or Prayer?

Every relationship eventually asks the same question.

Will I use this person? Will I fear this person? Or will I choose covenant?

Most human conflict begins when people stop seeing one another as people and begin seeing one another as tools, obstacles, threats, possessions, or solutions.

Predator or Prayer explores a different possibility. What happens when trust becomes stronger than fear? When covenant becomes stronger than control? When love becomes something chosen rather than demanded?

This section is an exploration of relationships through the lens of covenant, growth, healing, boundaries, responsibility, and becoming.

Not perfection. Not passivity. Not weakness. Covenant.

At the center is a forge. The path between these postures is not a compromise between them — it is the fire where a future is made. Who we choose to be, we slowly become.

The path

The wing unfolds as a path — from the three postures we take toward one another, through what drives us and what heals us, to who we are becoming. These pathways are still being illuminated.

The Three Postures

to consume

Predator

I use. I control. I take.

The hunger that treats another person as a tool, a threat, a prize, or a problem to be solved.

to surrender

Prayer

I surrender. I listen. I love.

Open hands instead of grasping ones — the posture able, at last, to receive another as they are.

to stay

Covenant

I choose. I trust. I stay.

Not a feeling but a decision, renewed: to remain, and to become more than either could alone.

What Drives Us

Fear

The engine beneath both predator and prey — and what it is really asking for.

Control

Why we grasp, and what we are actually afraid will happen if we let go.

Attachment

How we first learned to bond — and how those patterns follow us into every room.

What Heals Us

Trust

Not naiveté, but the slow, deliberate work of becoming safe to be known.

Boundaries

The line that is not a wall — how covenant protects without consuming.

Healing

What mends after harm, in ourselves and between us.

Where It Leads

Becoming

The whole point: not winning relationships, but growing into someone able to keep one.

Where This Lives in the Story

These ideas are not theory. They already breathe in the stories, letters, and symbols across the site.

This wing is not about how to find the right person. It asks a deeper question: what kind of person am I becoming in relationship with others?

Fear builds walls.

Covenant builds bridges.

Love builds home.
